The USS Yorktown (CV-10) is one of 24 Essex-class aircraft carriers built during World War II for the United States Navy. She was named after the Battle of Yorktown of the American Revolutionary War, and is the fourth U.S. Navy ship to bear the name. She participated in several campaigns in the Pacific Theater, and served during the Korean War and the Vietnam War, before being decommissioned in 1970. In 1975, she became a museum ship at Patriots Point, where she was designated a National Historic Landmark.
It is reputedly haunted, with a whole book dedicated to detailing its history and haunted heritage. Phenomena reportedly include apparitions, disembodied voices and singing, the feeling of being watched, and the movement of objects. Ghost Tours are available at this location.
